[pnpm 11.0 Released](https://pnpm.io/blog/releases/11.0) — You’ve heard about [its benefits](https://pnpm.io/motivation), but now the popular package management tool is even better. v11 sets `minimumReleaseAge` to one day by default, there's an SQLite-backed store index (faster installs!), native package publishing, [`pack-app`](https://pnpm.io/11.x/cli/pack-app), and more. There's [a migration guide for v10 users](https://pnpm.io/11.x/migration). Work has also resumed on [a Rust-powered port](https://github.com/pnpm/pacquet) called _Pacquet_.

Zoltan Kochan

💡 On the topic of package managers, [Aube](https://aube.en.dev/) is a new contender from the creator of [Mise](https://mise.en.dev/) that focuses heavily on [performance](https://aube.en.dev/benchmarks.html). [Still Writing Tests Manually? Meticulous AI Is Here](https://www.meticulous.ai/?utm_source=jsweekly&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=26q2&utm_content=primary) — Notion, Dropbox, Wiz and LaunchDarkly now use a testing paradigm they can’t work without. Built by former Palantir engineers, Meticulous automatically creates an evolving suite of E2E UI tests, delivering exhaustive coverage with no developer effort.

[TypeScript 7.0 Beta: 10x Faster TypeScript Compilation](https://devblogs.microsoft.com/typescript/announcing-typescript-7-0-beta/) — The Go-powered port with _“about 10 times faster”_ compiler performance. [TypeScript 6.0](https://devblogs.microsoft.com/typescript/announcing-typescript-6-0/)'s deprecations and [config changes](https://devblogs.microsoft.com/typescript/announcing-typescript-7-0-beta/#updates-since-5.x-and-new-behaviors-from-6.0) will help you upgrade smoothly from v5 to v7. There are also [changes to how to write your code](https://devblogs.microsoft.com/typescript/announcing-typescript-7-0-beta/#javascript-differences) to review. While v7 is considered _"close to production-ready"_, a stable programmatic API won't arrive till v7.1.

- 🎵 I've been dying to link to [Chip Player JS](https://chiptune.app/) again for a while now. It's a JavaScript powered online player and repository of over 300,000 MIDI, tracker, chiptune, and video game music files. It's fantastic for background music, and if you can remember a game, it's probably in here.
